The TEFL Praxis Association grants a series of prestigious awards in recognition of outstanding achievements in teaching, research, service, and leadership in language education. Awards are conferred based on a review of nominations by the TEFL Praxis Awards Committee (TPAC). Association awards are not presented annually; they are bestowed when the TPAC is convened by the Association to consider a nomination for a specific award. The TPAC comprises three members of the Executive Council plus two other active Association members and is chaired by one of the two TEFL Praxis Vice-Presidents. The TEFL Praxis Association welcomes nominations for the following awards:

Spirit of Praxis Special Achievement Award
This award is granted to a language educator who meaningfully synthesizes theory, reflective shared practice with informed action to enhance language teaching in powerful ways.

Excellence in Classroom Teaching Award
Awarded in recognition of demonstrated outstanding/innovative/inspirational classroom instruction in a context where English is taught as a foreign language.

Language Teacher Mentoring Award
This award is conferred in recognition of distinguished leadership in education. Leaders with an established record of impacting the careers of teachers in meaningful ways are eligible for this award.

Distinguished Research Award
Bestowed to a research-practitioner with an established track record in publishing and presenting significant research in language education. This prestigious award recognizes a wider body of work and is therefore considered as a career recognition.

Award for Innovation in Language Teaching
Recognizes innovative approaches to language teaching in terms of published materials, methods, and learner-centered projects that positively impact classroom learning, especially in relation to specific language skills.

Award for Scholarship and Meritorious Service
Presented to an exceptional teacher-leader with a demonstrated record of promoting the aims and objectives of the TEFL Praxis Association through outreach, professional contributions, and distinguished volunteer service.

TEFL Praxis awards carry a website citation, an official Association certificate, and a cash prize of 50,000 Japanese yen.

Nominations should identify the prospective recipient/award category and provide supporting evidence in a letter of recommendation describing the significance of accomplishments.
